Appearance -
The dress code may vary depending on your position and work location. At most Praxair locations, the dress code is business casual (i.e. slacks, khaki pants, collared shirts, or blouses, etc.), but in some of our manufacturing facilities it is casual. Just to be sure, it’s a good idea to check with your supervisor or HR to ensure that you are dressed for success.
Communication -
Demonstrating strong communications skills is essential. On the phone you should always identify yourself and speak clearly. When leaving a message be as concise as possible; also be sure to return phone calls promptly. When sending an email, use a formal and professional writing style. Remember to include the purpose in the subject line, politely greet the recipient, be brief and always check your spelling before you hit “send”.
Meetings -
If you are hosting a meeting you should provide an agenda, encourage participation and be respectful of the group’s time by starting and ending on time.
Work Styles -
At Praxair you will have the opportunity to work with talented and diverse people. In our richly diverse environment, you’ll interact with individuals from different generations, backgrounds and cultures. Be aware and respectful of the differences in work styles and use that insight to grow, develop and improve your own work style.
