Praxair Signs Deal for the First Total Gas Management (TGM) Site in India at Sterlite Technology’s Optical Fibre Glass Manufacturing Plant

Praxair and Sterlite Technology [BSE: 532374, NSE: STRTECH], a global data networks solutions company, have announced signing of a long-term agreement for onsite supply of specialty and bulk gases to Sterlite Tech’s optical fibre glass manufacturing plant in Shendra, Aurangabad, India. Under the agreement, Praxair is setting up their first site in India for Total Gas Management (TGM).

Praxair India’s Managing Director, Anuj Sharma, said, “We are delighted to be working with Sterlite Tech on this project. With this agreement, Praxair is making strides into the optical fibre manufacturing in India and will be an active player in India’s digitalization journey.”

Sterlite Tech’s Aurangabad-based plant have India’s only fully integrated Optical Fibre (OF) manufacturing capability, currently running at 30 million fkm annually. With this technology capability, nearly 45% of all data communications in the country are running on Sterlite Tech’s networks, with fibre supply to over 100 countries globally. The Company is also on track to expand its OF capacity to 50 million fkm, addressing demands for global broadband roll outs of telcos, defence, citizen network, enterprises and ISPs.
